Staff and volunteers of Stepping Stones North Wales were delighted to meet with Ynys Môn MP Llinos Medi and Rhun ap Iorweth MS in Llangefni.

The charity, currently marking its 40th year, serves all six counties of North Wales and provides free counselling and support services to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The meeting was an opportunity to showcase the professionalism and dedication of the charity’s team, to highlight the importance of their work and to discuss the challenges faced by so many charities in Wales and throughout the UK.

Following the meeting Stepping Stones North Wales CEO Phil Eastment said:

“The whole team is hugely grateful to Ynys Môn’s MP and MS for taking the time to meet with us and to learn more about our work and the challenges we face in meeting increasing demand for our services.

“I felt privileged, as always, to highlight the inspirational commitment and dedication of our counsellors, our office team and our volunteers who provide such crucial support across North Wales.

“Demand for our counselling and support services continues to grow, and we valued the opportunity to discuss both the challenges we face in meeting this demand and our five-year strategy to develop our services.”

Ynys Mon MS Rhun ap Iorwerth MS said:

“It was a pleasure to meet with the dedicated and hard-working team at Stepping Stones North Wales to learn more about the services and support they provide to victims of childhood sexual abuse. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Stepping Stones in the future as they aim to ensure that they can meet the increasing demand for their services.”

Llinos Medi MP said:

“Forty years of service speaks volumes about the impact and dedication of Stepping Stones. This charity has been a pillar of support, and I’m thrilled to see their reach grow to North Wales. Their expansion means more people will have access to the essential support they provide.”
