Thank you to the team at Ian Williams Limited
10th April 2024
Stepping Stones North Wales has welcomed a generous donation of £1000 from Ian Williams Limited, a property services company based in Wrexham and Denbighshire with additional offices throughout the UK. The donation was awarded after the local team voted to make Stepping Stones their nominated charity for 2024.
Established in 1984, Stepping Stones North Wales offers support and a professional counselling service to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The service is provided free of charge and serves clients across the six local authorities of North Wales.
This week Neil Jones, the company’s Business Manager, met with staff, volunteers and counsellors at the charity’s Wrexham office to present a cheque for £1,000 and to learn more about how the donation will be used to support clients and their families and friends.
Welcoming the donation, Stepping Stones North Wales CEO Phil Eastment said:
“This year we are marking our 40th year of serving clients across North Wales. With demand for our services continuing to grow across the region, we have launched an ambitious fundraising strategy that will help us to grow our organisation and to support more adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
“We are hugely grateful for this generous donation from Ian Williams. Such support from the local business community and local employers is invaluable in helping us to reach our fundraising targets and to support more clients.”
After presenting the cheque, Neil Jones said:
“The whole team at Ian Williams is proud of our track record of, and continued commitment to, supporting communities and charities. All employees within the local unit had the opportunity to nominate their local charity to support in 2024. After collating the votes, Stepping Stones North Wales was the most popular and I was pleased to present the charity with a donation of £1000.
“It was a pleasure to meet with the charity’s team in Wrexham. The services they provide can be transformative in helping adult survivors of sexual abuse to overcome their trauma. However, despite the importance of these services, so many people, from business leaders to policy makers, are still deeply uncomfortable in discussing these issues and this makes fundraising for Stepping Stones and similar charities increasingly challenging.
“Our whole team is delighted to support the charity in delivering their services across North Wales and we wish them luck in their fundraising goals for their 40thyear.”
