40th anniversary for Stepping Stones North Wales
14th January 2024
Founded in 1984, Stepping Stones North Wales is marking the milestone by launching a campaign of engagement and fundraising events across the North Wales region.
Working closely with partner organisations, including the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner and the local authorities, Stepping Stones North Wales offers support and a professional counselling service to adult survivors of child sexual abuse across the six counties of North Wales.
Welcoming the start of the charity’s 40th year its recently appointed CEO, Phil Eastment, said: “I am honoured to have joined Stepping Stones North Wales (SSNW) as we enter our 40th year.
"In the short time that I have been with the charity I have already seen the passion and commitment across the organisation in all areas of the work being delivered."
He added: "Demand for our services is continuing to grow across North Wales. As we work to meet that demand through the implementation of our new five-year strategy and associated organisational structure our 40th year is not just a cause for celebration, it represents a crucial fundraising and engagement opportunity.
“We are developing an exciting programme of events throughout the year across North Wales, from Holyhead to Wrexham, and to support these events we would like to invite as many volunteers as possible, from right across the region, to join us.
“Whether it be supporting us in organising events ranging from quizzes to concerts, or in supporting our online fundraising, volunteering with us is welcoming, rewarding and fun."

"They are active throughout the region on behalf of the people of North Wales and, as Police and Crime Commissioner, I am proud to have been able to support the organisation in providing their much-needed services to survivors.”
Vince McAllister, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “I am immensely proud of the incredible hard work and commitment shown by our staff, counsellors, and volunteers to ensure that Stepping Stones North Wales continues to focus all our efforts on meeting the increasingly challenging needs of our clients.
"I would like to assure you that every minute offered by volunteers and every penny collected goes directly to improving the services we provide for our clients.”
