Aberconwy MS Janet Finch-Saunders meets with Stepping Stones North Wales in Llandudno
2nd April 2025
Members of the Stepping Stones North Wales team were delighted to meet with Aberconwy MS Janet Finch-Saunders in her office in Llandudno.
The charity, which has just marked its 40th year, operates in all six counties of North Wales and provides free counselling and support services to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The meeting was an opportunity to showcase the professionalism and dedication of the charity’s team, to highlight the importance of their work and to discuss challenges faced by so many charities in Wales and throughout the UK.
Stepping Stones North Wales has recently been named as one of ten GSK Impact Awards 2025 winners and has achieved The Survivors Trust’s National Service Standards.
Following the meeting Janet Finch-Saunders commented:
“I was delighted to meet with the Stepping Stones North Wales team and to learn about the charity’s history and about the impact of their work across North Wales, including here in Aberconwy, in supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
“I am so impressed by the dedication, professionalism and compassion of the team. I congratulate them again on their recent successes and I would like to thank them for the vital service that they provide.
“I look forward to working closely with the charity and in supporting them in any way that I can.”
Stepping Stones North Wales CEO Phil Eastment commented:
“Our whole team is hugely grateful to Janet for welcoming us and for taking the time to learn about both the importance of our work and the challenges that we face in meeting increasing demand for our services.
“I felt hugely privileged, as always, to highlight the inspirational commitment and dedication of our counsellors, our support team and our volunteers who provide such crucial support across North Wales.”
