Jane Williams

I live locally to the Wrexham, North Wales area but have a good knowledge of North Wales due to my travelling during my career. I have recently taken early retirement from North Wales Police having had a long and successful career of 36 years. I have worked in various Police Staff roles throughout my career, all being customer focused. My roles including working closely with and supporting officers at various levels within the organisation but also directly supporting members of the public. Outside of work I have carried out voluntary roles mainly within the education school setting. I have been a school governor at both primary and secondary schools. I am currently Chair of Governors at my local primary school. Along with a couple of friends and as working parents we set up an after school care provision at the school. I have remained supporting this venture and I am very proud that we now have our own premises, we have been able to extend the childcare provision offering early entitlement, holiday club, after school club provision and employ a number of staff. This work I continue to undertake on a voluntary basis and I am Chair of the Management Committee. Becoming a Trustee at Stepping Stones is an exciting role for me and continues my passion for supporting a dedicated and valuable service in the community.

Jennie Henderson

I’m now retired but worked as a teacher, social worker, mental health professional and children and families counsellor for the charity; Action for Children. I’ve been involved with Stepping Stones, both as a practitioner and Trustee for 30 years. I was recruited by Vicki Boll (one of the founder members) and share her passion, vision and commitment to the work of this fantastic organisation.

Paul Gordon

I’ve had a successful career of over 30 years in Corporate Banking, where I specialised in business finance and risk management. I was keen to identify ways in which I could give back to my local community and now undertake a number of volunteer roles alongside my full-time job. I hope to use my business and financial acumen to help Stepping Stones maintain a strong sustainable path that allows the charity to continue to provide the fantastic support that it does for many many years to come.

Nigel Beesley

I am retired but used to work in the electricity generation industry where I became the Business Manager at Wylfa Power Station and ultimately the Security Head for Magnox Electric.

Along with my wife, I have helped bring up my four children, sadly my daughter Lucy died of a Brain Tumour at the age of 25 in March 2017. This traumatic experience has motivated me to be involved in Stepping Stones. It seems to be a fitting tribute to be involved in an organisation that helps adults to manage the trauma of being sexually abused.

Sara Worland

I’m a solicitor at the Crown Prosecution Service. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, I gained experience working in a range of public sector roles covering project management, corporate governance as well as contracts and commissioning. I’m proud to be a trustee for Stepping Stones and of the positive impact that the charity has in supporting its service users.

Kim McCall

I am a full-time history and politics teacher at a local all-girls school. Prior to my teaching career, I worked in the policy and public affairs sector – working for a trade body, a political party, and latterly a large international charity, where I was responsible for engaging with government and other external stakeholders, to improve the regulatory and legislative landscape in which charities work. I have recently returned to North Wales, where I grew up, and I am delighted to be in a position to support the work of Stepping Stones as a trustee.

Vince McAllister

I was a Senior Civil Servant, employed by the Home Office when I decided to take early retirement in 2018. Prior to that I had held senior roles in most of the large government departments, with my final appointment being the Head of Training for HMRC for five years.

Since finishing I have undertaken a range of voluntary roles including being a Trustee with a large charity for the last five years. I would hope that the skills and experience I bring from my roles in government, and previously as a Trustee will help me support the exciting opportunities that we have to further develop Stepping Stones North Wales.
